Iris Folding

This is my first attempt at Iris Folding. My friend Claudia taught me.  It's very easy to do, the hardest part is choosing the paper. The center (iris) would have been better as silver foil. 

 

Anniversary Card

This is the final version of my anniversary card for JoAnne and Ed Evans.  I wanted to use the Botanical Builder framelits dies because we used them for the decoration on the party favors.  We used a white flower on gold boxes and they were beautiful.  I used the number framelits for the 50, cutting them out of gold foil. 

Guest stampers!

Molly came over to make Valentines for Dan and the kids. 

We also filled the Cutie Pie boxes for her co-workers at her new job. 

I made 10 of these for Molly's co-workers at her new

job.  Each paper and tag was different.  I used my

new Cutie Pie thinlet. 

Molly used the Sheltering Tree set for her

card for Dan.  The tree has about 4

colors of leaves and some punched tiny

hearts.  She personalized the bicycle color.

This card is so cute!  She used die cut hearts

and picked bright colors to layer behind the

panel.  She added a stitched scallop border

with a die and ran the white card stock through

that really cute embossing folder.

We used a brayer to add color to the new

World Traveler embossing folder.  The images

were placed in strategic locations to cover

ink blotches! 

 
 The very next day Brandon and Anna  came over to spend the afternoon and make their valentines for Rob, Molly, Dan and each other.  They also made one for Lindsay.

Anna made this one for Lindsay from the both of them for all her babysitting.

The kids had a good time.  They both used embossing folders and dies with the cuttlebug and my big shot. Anna did some sponging and Brandon used punches. They chose their ideas from Pinterest and changed them a bit to suit themselves. 

Blooming Heart Thinlit Die

I attached a layer of vellum on a larger card base by putting small bits of fast fuse behind each tiny heart.  The white heart is mounted on a gold foil heart. I used single strands of gold embroidery thread for the loops  peeking from behind the sentiment. I made this card for the 50th wedding anniversary of my friend Donna's parents. 

The heart is cut from the pink glimmer paper.  The embossing folder is from Darice.  I used a thin strip of the pink glimmer paper across the bottom and pearls for embellishment on the flowers.

This uses white glimmer paper over a red foil heart.  It is layered on black, tied with bakers twine, and mounted on thick cardstock. 

The DSP is from the birthday bouquet pack.  The heart is cut from Rose Red and the small flowers are Pink Pirouette. The heart is placed  slightly off center on some floral vellum from the Botanical Gardens DSP vellum stack and the vellum square is placed slightly to the left of center on the card front 

This is one of my favorites.  I cut a heart in the white panel and inset a pink heart cut from Pink Pirouette, then layered the detail heart over the top.  The flowers are stamped  in Rose Red.  They are slightly offset.  I used the trio corner punch on opposite corners of the white panel before layering it on Rose Red and then on a white card base.

These cards were the first ones I made using the Blooming Heart Die. They both use the same papers.  I cut the heart from Wisteria Wonder and a coordinating DSP. Then each heart was set into the negative space on each front panel.  The card on the left was mounted on a Very Vanilla card base and I used the clear Wink of Stella pen to add sparkle. The pink behind the DSP heart is a scrap, and the card base is Blushing Bride.    

 

Botanical Blooms

Wow! What a fun set of dies to work with.  I love the extra layers in the petals on the flowers. I sponged some extra color to the centers of most of the flowers.  Most of the matching DSP is very bold and tropical but the dies lend themselves to many styles. 

Happy New Year 2016

I made this card for my friend Diane that lives in New Jersey.  It is the essence of clean and simple.  White glimmer paper numerals with silver glimmer paper centers.  The numbers are raised with foam tape.  The stitched scallop border is from Lawn Fawn.  I added a narrow strip of silver glimmer paper above the scallop. 

I liked it so much that I decided to make a desk calendar with the same style.  I printed the calendar, cut it, and mounted it to small piece of watercolor paper with brads. The calendar is taller than the card so needed some extra embellishment to balance the empty space. 

Gift Tags

I have made several sets of gift tags that I sold to a friend of Claudia.  The butterfly ones are really fun to make.  I plan on making more with other colors for her to sell at a spring bazaar.
